President Karen treated Amanda Jean to a golf cart drive to/from dinner. It's the best way to go in The Villages!

Amanda Jean led the "Spin" workshop on Monday with 20 quilters in attendance.

Everyone worked with colorful scraps to create their own spin on projects in Amanda Jean's book No Scrap Left Behind.

Special thanks to Susan not only for bringing Amanda Jean to The Villages, but also for being our workshop angel. She assisted Amanda Jean, and coordinated our lunches and afternoon snacks!

The same evening, at North Lake Presbyterian Church, approximately 70 members and guests came to Amanda Jean's trunk show. President Karen welcomed everyone.

Amanda Jean shared a little about herself and her family, and her quiltmaking story.

These are few of the 20 scrap quilts that Amanda Jean shared from No Scrap Left Behind... "Hot and Cold"

"All Sizes" and "Bruiser"

"Ring Me"

Then, members who had made an Amanda Jean design were invited to share their projects.

Dee showed "Checkerboard," a quilt from the book Sunday Morning Quilts written by Amanda Jean and Cheryl Arkison.

Jane showed her version of "Chain of Diamonds" in her favorite collegiate colors.

Celina showed "June" and....

"Remainders."

Karen shared her version of "All Sizes."

Everyone who met Amanda Jean learned that she's a delightful quilter who is an inspiration when it comes to creating scrap quilts, and basically... all things scrappy. We're thrilled that our chapter could welcome her to Central Florida!

Reminder
There is NO meeting on the second Monday of October! (October 9 would have been our regular meeting date). Amanda Jean's trunk show was our October meeting!
