April 10 Meeting

A total of 35 quilters attended our April 10 meeting with seven of them being first-time visitors! Great turnout! And we welcome one new member: Peggy!

President Karen led our meeting.

Linda H. gave a presentation: "What I Learned About Color at QuiltCon." She talked about the Bars Quilt seen at the right side of the photo.

Jane shared her machine-appliquéd "Candy Pop" quilt, a pattern in Christa Watson's book Machine Quilting With Style.

Jane walking foot-quilted Candy Pop...

... and spiral- and wavy-quilted this quilt, on her home sewing machine.

Ruth is returning north, so she shared two incomplete projects.

This "Oh Happy Day" quilt top is the November 2016 free pattern available to MQG members. Oh Happy Day was designed by QuiltingJetGirl Yvonne Fuchs.

Beth showed two over-the-shoulder bags, and a Sew Together Bag by Sew Demented. The Sew Together bag is Beth's entry in the MQG Riley Blake Creative Rockstar Fabric Challenge.

Jodie's getting a bedroom-to-sewingroom makeover, and has challenged herself to try different home sewing machine quilting techniques on the minis she's making to decorate her room.

Linda H. made a 14" X 14" Hazel Hedgehog pillow for a high school graduation gift.
