President Karen welcomed visitors and new members Kay and Margaret. Thirty-one people were in attendance.
Thanks to the MQG, Karen was able to use the MQG photos to put together a visual presentation of winning QuiltCon East quilts, starting with "Bling," the 98" X 98" Best of Show quilt made by Katherine Jones of Tasmania, Australia.
Selina shared her "Stax Quilt", a pattern given to MQGers who did not attend QuiltCon. She quilted it herself, on a domestic machine.
Lora shared her king-sized "Chevron News" quilt, a pattern by Zen Chic. It was longarm quilted.
Linda T. and her "Wavelength" quilt, a foundation paper-pieced pattern by Freshly Pieced.
Lynda, visiting from Canada, participated in a chapter MQG challenge using an "ugly" fabric, making improv three-rail fence blocks.
Debbie used fabrics from a fat quarter bundle, and the Alison Glass "Swatch" pattern to make this quilt top which she then longarm quilted using quilt designs learned in a QuiltCon workshop with Christina Cameli.
Pat was given fabrics and pieces of paper, without instructions, and asked to make something. She figured out that everything was for a foundation paper-pieced heart!
Kathy made a cuddly patchwork quilt for her four year-old granddaughter.
Mary made this for her first great grand-daughter. She quilted it on her domestic machine.
Karen proudly showed her last completed UFO - she has no more! This quilt is made using blocks from the 2013 Bay Area Modern BOM. She quilted it on her Tiara with a variety of designs.
