English Paper Piecing Workshop - Modern Grandmother’s Flower Garden Mini Quilt
Fee: $15, plus $5 paper kit. Optional $12 fabric kit.
English paper piecing dates back to the late 1700s when hexagon quilts became popular in England. The technique involves basting fabrics over paper templates and then sewing the shapes together by hand. In this introductory workshop to English paper piecing, students will learn the basic techniques including how to cut the fabric, baste the pieces and hand sew them together along with tips and tricks to complete the project successfully. In addition, Jen will also show you how fussy cut fabric and use this technique to create secondary designs with a wow factor.

Program: "Hand Therapy, and Red Thread Studio Trunk Show"
Free to Central Florida MQG members; $5 at the door for guests

In this interactive program, Jen demonstrates easy and noninvasive ways to keep the joints flexible, improve range of motion, and relieve arthritis pain so you can stitch longer. These hand and shoulder exercises are followed by a trunk show of the latest and greatest available at Red Thread Studio.
Shopping at Red Thread Studio will be available at the workshop, and evening meeting!
The meeting is open to all non-members, and guests! Please invite your friends!
