Two Challenges

Since July, the Central Florida MQG has welcomed 20 new members to our chapter! Whoo-hoo! We all have new people to meet and get to know.

So, by our September 11 meeting, we've come up with two challenges aimed at new members, and those "oldsters" who haven't yet gotten into technology.

Our first challenge is to invite everyone to make and wear (to every meeting) a home-sewn name tag. You'll find ideas on Pinterest, and a search on Flickr of "sewn name tags" turned up all these ideas HERE. It's up to you whether you'd like to include your last name.

Our second challenge is to:

1. Open an Instagram account. Think seriously about the name you choose as it will be yours for a long time, and used to identify you, sometimes even in person! Many of us learned that when we attended QuiltCon because our handles were listed just below our name. A word of advice: do not include your last name on your Instagram profile. For safety reasons, it's best to either leave that blank, or just use your last initial.

2. After you've opened your Instagram account, take a quilt-related photo and post that to your feed. In the text that accompanies your photo, be sure to include @centralfloridamqg so we know you've opened your account. You follow CentralFloridaMQG; CentralFloridaMQG will follow you! It's suggested that you also follow @themqg

Our aim is to have every member on Instagram and use that as another form of communication.
🙌

One more thought.... if you open your Instagram account first, you can include your handle on your home-made name tag. Voila! We'll all know your name and your Instagram handle!

Two Drawings
For all your hard work, you have the chance to put your name in for two drawings!

Winners will be chosen from those who wear a homemade name tag, and one winner will be chosen for opening a new Instagram account. Have fun!
