On December 6, 2012, sixteen quilters from the Central Florida chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild, accepted Michael Miller Fabrics' challenge to make a quilt using fabrics from the "Madrona Road" collection. Quilters received six prints and one solid in the "ocean" colorway. Challenge rules stated:
- Only Madrona Road fabrics, from either the "ocean" or "citrus" colorway, and solids may be added to your project.
- The finished quilt should be no smaller than 80 linear inches, and may be made as large as you wish.
- All aspects of piecing and quilting should be entirely the work of the quilter.
- Should you not complete your challenge by January 28, 2013, you will be asked to donate $10.50 - the cost of the fabric - to the chapter's treasury.
