May 12 Monthly Meeting

We had some great publicity in May! This appeared in The Villages Daily Sun on May 8.

Twelve quilters attended our meeting. One is a first-time visitor.

Denise led our meeting in the absence of our chapter leader Karen, and also shared her personal sewing and quilting journey in our monthly "Quilter's Story."

Beth shared information about how to document a quilt - keeping in a binder of information - and how to properly label a quilt.

We laid out the string-pieced blocks we've been making for our donation/thank-you quilt for North Lake Presbyterian Church. We're short a dozen blocks to make a 64" X 80"quilt. Regular attendees are asked to each make one more block by the Saturday, July 19 Sew-In where we will piece the quilt top. Refer to our tutorial here.

For quilters interested in the American Made Brand blog hop, beginning Monday, May 19, go here for more information.

Reminders
A Quilting Florida Meet-Up, with Carolyn Friedlander, is planned for Saturday, May 24, 11:00 a.m. at Bok Tower Gardens, 1151 Tower Blvd., Lake Wales, Florida. Carolyn's quilts are on display at Bok Tower. $10 a person. More information is available here.
